When Naomi moved to Taos, she hoped to use Earthships as a focal point in her study of the dynamics of the relationships among the three cultues of New Mexico (Native American, Hispanic, and Anglo).
Earthships are buildings that are "off-the-grid" (energy self-sufficient).
For a while in the fall of 2000, Naomi lived in one.
