Susan started this page in the winter of 2001 after her week in New York City at Sam's apartment
|
Sam is a writer in New York City who has been working with children in recent years. His bio is on the web.
Teacher Magazine had the good sense to publish his article about his week working with teachers in Karachi, Pakistan, in the February 2001 issue. Below is a picture he took on that trip. He has published four books. The Araboolies of Liberty Street earned the Black-Eyed Susan Award from the Maryland Association of School Librarians, has been used by the Girl Scouts and other organizations in diversity training, and is a big hit with seven-year-olds -- and has now been made into an opera! The Krazees evokes that feeling we all get from time to time. Gotta Go Gotta Go is about a monarch butterfly. Guess what Katya's Book of Mushrooms is about. Chapbooks is one of his projects. |
